HAX was founded by Hattie Glendenning to offer bespoke and made to order tailoring for all genders and ages at an intimate studio in the heart of London.

HAX is an accessible, refreshing and modern alternative to traditional tailoring without compromising on quality. We work beyond conventional boundaries by combining my love for distinctive styling with ready access to British cloth merchants. Hattie personally works with each client to truly understand how to bring your ideas to life, whether creating an everyday essential, a wardrobe classic or an avant-garde piece of occasionwear.

“HAX was born out of my own struggle and frustration with the quality and fit of off-the-rack garments. It became clear to me that I wanted to create garments that I would genuinely love to wear. We’re all different, so why shouldn’t our clothes be too? I wanted to create a service that caters to individual preferences and unique body shapes that would appeal to those who appreciate style and individuality over fashion and trends. HAX helps you to stand out in a subtle and sophisticated way, in a garment that is unique to you.

“Where possible, I prefer to work with English fabrics. From my experience, they are best sourced from Yorkshire, where luxury textiles were first developed in the 19th century, in the town of Huddersfield. These are cloths with a strong personality that also offer everything that cloth was intended for: drape, warmth, durability and value for money.

“Over 6-8 weeks, we’ll work together on designing, styling, fitting and completing your garment. If you’ve been inspired by something you’ve seen, wish you could wear a style but don’t think it suits you or want to recreate a worn-out item you’ve loved for years—I’d love to hear from you.”

As a stock-free studio, each garment is made to order from existing patterns or created from scratch for bespoke pieces. Not only does this avoid waste fabric for more sustainable investment dressing, but it ensures that each garment tells the client’s story for unique garments that are made to last.
